Kinda curious to know if a Blu-Ray drive is really worth it. Your thoughts on the situation.

To preface, I am still a huge HD DVD supporter. But being the realist that I am, I went out and bought an LG Super Multi Blue drive (GGW-H20L) that will play both. It has the added bonus of burning BLu-rays and is a heck of a DVD/CD writer to boot!

Can't conplain about reducing the number of compnents in a system, but we are all well aware that hardware that tries to be too many things is bound to be good at most but not the best at many.

That said, I still haven't found fault in this drive to date.

Blu-ray rom is only worth it if you are planing to watch blu-ray movies...where as a blu-ray burner, you can use it for the massive storage.

if i went blu-ray, it woudlnt be for movies only. :) So that takes the ROM out of the equation.
