Bootable USB

My sister's netbook has failed and needs windows reinstalling, the thing is as most of you will know, netbook's don't have a CD/DVD drive and I have an 8Gb usb drive so was wondering if there is an easy way for me to make XP boot from the USB, I read on a thread here that you can and it looked quite simple, but I'm unable to find the thread so am now asking all of you for the help :toast:

For me it worked when making it really bootable with reformat of the cmd boot data. So it did not work just putting files on. And you have to have good USB flash , those cheap ones usually aren't recommended AFAIK.

i can't believe no one's mentioned Wintoflash, a lot easier to use than any command line interface http://wintoflash.com/download/en/
download the latest version and run it, the rest is self explanatory.

I'm having problem's with every way of doing it, but recently come to the conclusion that it's because I'm using a micro SD card converted to USB, should this actually have any effect's?
