Borderlands: The Secret Armory of General Knoxx DLC released

This DLC is found on steam. Cost is $10. This game adds a new patch, new weapons vehicles, class mods, missions and increase level cap to 61. I am not sure of the duration so if anyone knows post it up.

Patch fixes:

• Invalid weapons or items can no longer be loaded into the game
• Brick’s Centurion class mods now regenerate health correctly
• Brick’s Bombardier class mods now regenerate rockets correctly
• Roland’s Tactician class mods now regenerate shields correctly and display the correct bonus values
• Roland’s Rifleman class mods now apply damage increase to all machine guns
• Certain powerful legendary item names should now be displayed in the appropriate color
• Opening the bank in the Mad Moxxi DLC no longer prevents other players from moving
• Multiple copies of DLC missions can no longer be obtained
• Corrected some incorrect icons in the ammo vendor
• Fixed a crash caused by killing the final boss while zoomed in with a scope
• The “Careful, he bites” achievement should now properly unlock when playing in French
• Added icons to the server browser that indicate which DLCs the server has installed
• The server browser now displays the name of the DLC a server is playing instead of the plot mission
• Adjusted scrolling in menu options in long server lists
• Added a notification if a player attempts to continue a game saved in DLC that is no longer installed
• Fixed DLC notification dialogs that were not closing properly
• Alt-F4 no longer closes the game if it is not in focus
  
• Balance Adjustments:
  
• Chests in New Haven have been adjusted to contain more appropriate loot
• The duration of daze effects has been reduced to 6 seconds, and the amount by which it decreases the speed of enemies and their projectiles has been reduced
• Damage from shock elemental effects has been increased
• Repeater pistol damage has been slightly increased, accuracy slightly decreased
• Sniper Rifle critical hit bonus has been increased

Basically, everything i bitched about they gave me, so I am all for it.

I mean details. What new weapons? What new mission? What was the incentive to raise the level cap (e.g. FO3 Broken Steel raised in order to offer new Perks)? What new vehicle (can you get it from any Scooter kiosk)? What new areas? What new enemies?

Incentive for raised level cap: 11 more skill points/rebalanced existing skills.
New areas: T-Bone Junction
New enemies: Crimson Lance (Rocketeer, Combat Medic, Shock Trooper, Assassin). Ends with the "highest level boss in Borderlands" which should theoretically drop good weapons (unlike you know who).
Mission: Kill General Knoxx + side quests (Marcus, Scooter, and Moxxi), takes place after the main story. Apparently, it can be completed more than once.
New Weapons: New rarity class (part of the patch, not DLC) and effects. The new rarity color is "pearlescent."
New Vehicles: "Monster" ("Jeep meets Hummer;" seats 2) and "Lancer" (Crimson Lance APC; seats 4).

I've honestly been trying to find out how many hours of game play does this DLC offer. So far I've not found it. Anyone know?

This is like the only addon so far that is close to being worth 10 bucks. And it's the first one on PC not to have securom I think. They might be finally doing something right.

so does this fix the broken multi player yet?? having to forward ports is the only reason I stopped playing. even when I forwarded the ports correctly it would randomly kick me from servers

Edit: I am two hours in and there is clearly a lot left to do. The list of enemies and vehicles I listed above are incomplete. There's even new classes of enemies I won't list.

Most enemies are leveled higher than I am so I already died three or four times and had numerous second winds. It's ridiculous how fast some enemies tear through my shields and health.


Edit: Almost 6 hours and still going strong.

duoh! guess I didnt catch that last patch. just downloaded! how are the last 2 dlcs?? any good?? I stopped playing due to the broken multi player. does it install the previous patches when you install the DLC?? cuz my multiplayer was still effin up yesterday

The Zombie Island of Doctor Zed was alright (~4 hours, really adds nothing new). The Moxxi Underdome is pretty bad except for the storage (I'd call it unbeatable). General Knoxx is turning out to be the best by a long shot (at least 6 hours, adds a bunch of stuff).


Edit: I just got credits. It took about 8 hours and there is still some stuff to do. The beginning of the DLC was ridiculously hard because I was taking out level 54s as a level 50 or 51. Later on the in the game, it was almost stupid easy. I ran right in front of them and killed them at point blank range with them barely able to take my shields down (56/57 vs 51). I started at level 50 and ended (not 100% done on it yet) at 58.


Edit: It is over 12 hous long if you do everything. I have reached level 61 and I still haven't finished everything in the DLC. Unfortunately, the vehicles in the DLC do not carry over to the rest of the game.

In short, when the credits scroll, it is far from over (that is just the end of the main quest).
