Amanita design, the people behind Samorost, its sequel and Machinarium are releasing a new game today: Botanicula

Feedback and reviews remain scant, but very positive, which is only to be expected from the people responsible for Machinarium, one of the few releases that manages to blur the distinction between a computer game and a form of art.

I liked Machinarium and now Botanicula looks promising. Nice.

I played it for a while. It's interesting but, like Machinarium and Samorost, it just isn't my kind of game.

FYI, this game shares nothing in common with Spore. It's a point and click adventure/puzzle game.

Yes, now that the humble bundle offer has ended, it has released on Steam. I recommend the game, but if you haven't tried Amanita's previous games, I suggest you begin with Samorost (free to play) and its sequel before moving on to Machinarium and finally Botanicula. Samorost will allow you to decide whether or not these types of games jingle your jangle without parting with any money.
