Here is a example #1 picture is normal settings and #2 is changed settings. #2 picture looks deeper in color (may be hard to tell with these pictures)
What I did was change the digital Vibrance & lowered the gamma. The result was deeper colors with tiny bit loss of brightness (It's not noticeable). Give it a try or if you know of any other results to make your laptop LCD have better results post it up
