Budget computer

Hey guys, well my brother has asked me to spec him up a computer, he only needs the tower, that is all.

Also i have a Graphics card (3850 512mb), case, and maybe a Hard drive as well for him to use, so those three aren't really needed. I have so far got a list of around £230:

CPU
Motherboard
RAM
PSU
XP

now all this will be used for is light websurfing, and playing UT3 and football manager... so yea ideas????

3850 won't be enough for UT3. It didn't so well on my 4830 so.. But that's maxed out. I'm sure it will do fine with the settings on medium.
But other than that, the 5200+ are awesome. My buddy used to have the Windsor version with 1mb of cache and it was pretty good.

the 3850 runs UT3 on medium fine, i played on it before i got my 4850 so yea, that bit is fine. and football manager is hardly demanding lol

That looks like a good setup for a budget rig.

I'd make one small change to the CPU and pick up the Kuma based AMD dual core (7750). It's only $5-$10 more, is a BE edition chip and has the added innovation of a L3 cache. If it starts to get a little sluggish on him you can just bump the multiplier up by one or two for an easy over clock.
