Just like the title says. On 1650 x 1080 resolution. With 8GB ram and i5 2500K.
I doubt it. It's barely 20+ FPS @1280x1024 with 4xAA and 16xAF. Even with a Sandy Bridge there won't be much improvement. Maybe make it 20+ FPS at that resolution but definitely not maxed out.
I can try it and report. My proc is a 2600k though, and overclocked. So is my GTX460, but you should get the general idea.
Metro 2033 is a gpu power hog so buy a better gpu or play with lower settings.
The answer is yes, it can. I just tried it. Everything maxed, dx11 and all, i get around 30fps in the tunnels, and around 22-30fps(depends on the soroundings) on the outside.
I can try it with my 768MB vanilla but I can state, if it does it wouldn't be an average framerate and odds are just a tad under maybe 18fps. Would the card be overclocked even further?
Very very nice!
GTX 570 it is, then.
(PS: Building a secondary rig)
From what i am seeing, GTX460 1GB SLI > Single GTX570 in the short run(meaning could add another 570) if you wish to go that route.
I'm building a Mini ITX rig, so I can't do SLI.
Might want to skip on it then if it's just for metro2033. Note in the SLI review, the GTX2xx cards were run in DX10 mode (obvious). **checking to see if driver optimizations were done**
Nope no driver optimizations as far as I can see
I remember when it came out I tried it on my old gtx 470 setup and it ran pretty well at 1920x1080. Had a serious OC on the card. With ADOF off it plays much faster.
entropy13: you are wrong. i played and finished Metro 2033 on very high settings at 1920*1080 res comfortably. and i have a gtx 460 1gb, and a q6600.
its not as bad as you claim to be. my avg fps was around 25fps or a 23. but it was very playable for me.
and im sure with my new motherboard and i5 2500k, it will only get better.
most people say anything below 60fps or 30 is unplayable. but for me anything above 20fps is playable.
Very high settings is not maxed settings. Your 460 can't play the entire game at playable framerates without massive dips at MAX settings. That includes advanced depth of field and all dx11 features maxed. Let's see you bench it with that card. I know for a fact the game isn't playable 100% on max with a 460, because i had a 470 and it couldn't do it. pretty much the 580 is the only card that plays through it on full max. even then it probably gets big dips at certain points.
