Can I play GTA V in 4k or even 3440x1440? Currently in 1080p I get 100-150 FPS with GTA totally maxed out to the hardcore. My GPU runs about 60-70% usage and CPU at about 50-60% usage during gameplay.

I want this monitor http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00Q7VCSGU/?tag=tec06d-20 or maybe a 4k monitor but right now i'm leaning more towards that curved monitor. I think that thing will make GTA V look so damn sexy.

Do you think I will need another Titan X to play in 3440x1440 or 4k and still maintain 60FPS during the most demanding parts of game play like during explosions and big fights? Do you think I can still get 60FPS with just 1 Titan? What about my CPU? Is my CPU good enough if I got 4k? Would I need to attempt to get 5GHz out of it or do you think it can run 4k where it is now?

Your CPU will most likely be fine especially since the higher the resolution the more is offloaded to the GPU.

While not perfectly linear 4k is 4x the pixels of 1080p so theoretically you should get 1/4 of your current FPS. (while not exactly right it's a mathematical measurement)

Can you play at 4k? Yes. can you play at 4k maxed? Yes. Can you play 4k maxed and get 60fps constant? I wound't bet on it..

With all the info I have read and from what you gave me I would say to do 4k maxed 60fps GTAV it will take 2 titans.

I agree. With a single Titan X 60FPS @4K Maxed settings you won't stay over 60FPS. You should stay over 30FPS, which in this game actually is still smooth.

ok i wont even be playing in 4k but close to it, that curved monitor i linked is 3440x1440 and i think its going to make GTA V and league of legends look totally badass. im going to order the monitor next month on the 22nd and once i get it and test it out ill most likely get another titan. imm so excited 2 titans on that monitor is gonna be tits.

also i said the cpu usage is around 50-60% when playing gta. if its gonna have to chomp out 4 times the pixels wouldnt my cpu have to be putting out like 200%? how is my cpu gonna handle it if it already sits at 50-60% when playing gta?

I think a single Titan X should be enough. For comparison the monitor you want has about 60% of the pixels that a 4K monitor has and about 34% more pixels than a 2560X1440p. I doubt you will need 2 Titan X. Let us know how it turns out.

I'm running this game @ 1440 and downsampling it to 1080... you should give this a try with whatever resolution you're interested in before buying a monitor and being disappointed by the frames you get if its on the low side.

With the spec's you have listed, this game should be playing with all settings maxed.... your rig and should in fact be capable of the full 60FPS @ 1440 without a problem.

Pretty sure there are options in the Nvidia Control panel, can't remember because i don't have an Nvidia card at the moment.

PSU will be a limit with OC on both CPU and GPUs, for sure. Stock clocks, no problem.

Under 3D Settings there is an option called DSR Factors. Enable those, and then you can pick higher resolutions in game than your monitor can provide.

However, it will only give you resolutions that are the same aspect ratio as your current monitor. So you won't be able to test any 21:9 resolutions(so no 3440x1440). But you can test 4k, assuming you have a 1080p monitor currently.

haha i dont need another titan to play in 4k. there is benchmarks out of people playing with a single titan x maxed out in 4k and getting about 45 fps average :D the titan x is so freakin tits. i might get another one anyway so i can stream and record lol. now i know i dont need another titan just to play it all i need is that gorgeous monitor

ok guys i have a serious question i need answered now.

I was going to get that 34" 3440x1440 curved samsung monitor cuz it looks sexy and cuz its 21:9 so when playing league of legends, i get an advantage by being able to see a lot more of the map on each side of the screen. but i was thinking, you only get to see extra map on the sides, not the top and bottom. if i were to get a 4k monitor would i be able to see more map on the sides, top, and bottom? or would i even get to see any extra at all?

How are you downsampling? Just setting the in game resolution to 1080p?

That's not how a game works, well not how a moba will work. Having a 4k monitor will increase resolution and scale everything up letting you see no more than having a 1080p screen. As for having a 21:9 monitor, I don't know this for sure but my best guess would be that because of the competitive nature of mobas you will either be stuck with black bars on both sides of the screen (the game forcing 16:9) or it'll work with 21:9 and you will not gain more on the sides, you will see the same and lose some area on the top and bottom putting you at a disadvantage.

no u dont lose anything on the top and bottom with 21:9 the top and bottom is the exact same as 1080p and there is no black bars ive seen people play on 3440x1440 on league and u can in fact see a lot more of the map on each side. i want to know if anyone knows if having 4k will allow me to see even more of the map including the top and bottom, instead of only the sides like 3440x1440

If this is the case then I have less respect for the game. Having the monitor give you an advantage over others is a huge flaw. I am reluctant to believe what you say is true.

Edit: Actually you can test it. Use NVidia's DSR to give yourself increased resolution and play the game on that resolution. Tell us what you find. I am interested to see if this is true. A moba with it's view scaling based on resolution is ridiculous.

You'll be able to run it just fine, from personal experience, I would recommend a gsync monitor so that even if the frame rate dips below 60FPS the experience will be smooth at 4K

In that case, all you need to do is enable VSync so you don't get screen tearing. With two titan x cards I don't think your frame rate will drop under 60fps 99% of the time.

I have had an Ultra Wide monitor last year and no black bars anywhere with modern games, only a few old or low budget games will not scale well. But 29" Wide was to small (vertically) for me, now I am back to a normal proportions 32" Dell.

i was looking at "gaming monitors" and saw this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009742 could someone tell me why i would want that? whats the point of having 144hz or gsync? do those things even matter if im not ever going to lag and ill always have a high fps on my system anyways?

i just read up about 144hz for a minute and i read that people get it because whenever you get more than 60fps in a game you can actually see the extra frames on the monitor with a higher hz. but why would you want to see more than 60 fps anyways? it doesnt make any difference anything above 60fps isnt noticable.

I was gonna get another titan and monitor next month until i saw this video...

Screw 4k monitors! I might get a 5k monitor and play me some GTA V in 5k, now that would be badass. apparently 2 titan x's are so beast not even 5k and ultra settings on modern games can slow it. wucha guys think?
