This is just a pretty simple question that I can't find anywhere nor on paypal. Has anyone tried selling on paypal without a bank account? I was wondering they could pay by crediting your card. Or at least I'm wondering if they keep your balance, can you buy using paypal directly with the balance in paypal without having to have it put anywhere at all? The reason I'm asking this is, well, call me a crazy paranoid but when the markets crashed I emptied out my bank account (I'm a student so there wasn't much in it anyway).

nope - used a FDIC bank and open an account, your deposits are insured for up to $100K... doubt a few sales will put you over that

Id trust a bank way more than paypal. I know people that have been locked out of all their funds before, just because they didn't inform paypal of tracking numbers.

I always move money ASAP into the bank after it hits paypal.

In the US your money is safe up to 100K per account.

    You can always call paypal

Thats the exact reason that caused the 1930's Great depression, i seriously suggest you take a history lesson.

1000's People rushed to there banks to pull out there savings because of the stock market crash. Well as we all know banks dont have enough money(because of lending and credit) to pay 1000 people there whole life savings, hence to the total bank collaspe.

I also suggest you read up a bit on finance, because the way the whole world works today, is people putting there money in banks. Without money in banks there is no economy

As for buying and selling, you dont need to tie your bank account to paypal, when you have money in your account, you can request a check for the amount, paypal charges a 1.50 processing fee for the check.

I know how it works and I don't care. For now, I don't want any bank having hold of my money.

Also that is good to know about them sending checks, big plus, thanks!

You can request a check or have them credit your bank account, but I don't see an option to pay a credit card.

No option to pay a credit card ... :ohwell:

Reasons mentioned previously work out well if you don't have/want to add a bank account.

Be aware, I beleive that you may not be able to confirm your address if you purchase with the account. Meaning it's possible you may not be able to purchase off newegg.com and few other e-tailers via PayPal.
