I have 5 or 6 different Giga's and they have all proved rock solid, and good clockers.

I've always been a Western Digital guy, and their Caviar Black series is top notch in my book. I run a 640GB.

As far as the motherboard, I've run a Gigabyte P55 for a while, but got sick of the color scheme (I run off an acrylic techstation, so I look at my naked system all day long) and went with an EVGA P55 SLI FTW, and I'm very happy with it, but GB boards are awesome too.

By time you have installed the ram and a decent cooler you can barely see the board anyway ;)

Fortunately I like blue anyway.

I like the old DFI as well, but they've made what one P55 motherboard and it's expensive as shit compared to everything else? What happened to them?

Well my inside is on the outside, so, yeah
