Hey guys,

I have been having problems with my graphics card and I need some technical help, because my knowledge is limited on such matters.

I have recently bought an Acer monitor to use as an extention to my desktop screen and I have been using it at a resolution of 1920x1080. When I first hooked it up it worked perfectly fine, but I notice that everytime I disconnect it and connect it again, the resolution changes. The problem I have now, is that even though I have been operating the monitor at 1920x1080 for some time now, the last time I had to disconnect it to move my wiring around, when I connected everything again, the monitor does not display at 1920x1080, and I for the life of me I cannot get it to display at that resolution again.

Monitor: Acer X223HQ (VGA only)
Graphics Card: Ati Radeon 3470
OS: Vista Business (32bit)

I played around with Ati Catalyst Control Centre, and I haven't managed to resolve the issue.

I work long hours from home and the resolution on my screen is quite important. I would appreciate any help from anyone.

Thank you,
Mario

I recently had a problem like this when I brought my new LG monitor, the solution is actually very simple, or at least it was for me, so anyway's here's what to do if you haven't already done it... if you have the CD what come with the monitor put that in your drive and install the driver for your monitor :)

If you don't have the CD simply use the manufacture's website to download the driver :)

Hope this help's!

try some simple things like conpleatly disconnecting the monitor, blow out the dust. reboot your pc without it connected. shutdown and connect it again and boot up. check if that has fixed it.

you could also try uninstalling it from device manager then reinstall it to see if that solves it. check the acer website for a driver or software for your monitor.
