Yes it is a preview version of the next driver set
That can be a 10.3 hotfix or 10.4.
i have the same issues shevanel but i get it with or without a second display. Im in the process of an RMA on the card as many others here dont have the issues.
woohoo! happy 1000 posts!
I will give a run, when I get back from office...
So are these actually any good? I am still using Vista in dual boot and have 10.1 on vista and 10.2 on 7...... is it a worthwhile upgrade, I dont tend to update on every release unless I have compatibility issues with new games I am playing.
i would say so tatty, they have improvements in stability and fps increases in alot of games. As stated on the front page. I would say go for it!
so if i have 10.3a from last week its basically the same as these correct? or would i benifit from downloading these and installing? woot woot its my birthday!!
happy b-day dragon! well i downloaded the 10.3 driver so when my 5850 gets here today i will be ready to install so it should be better than the beta version
you will love your 5850!!! cant wait till you post back about what ya think about it, seeing you were an nvidia guy like me for so many years
i liked nvidia for a long time but just wanted to jump over and see what ATI has to offer! im pretty sure i will like it. later on i will post a picture of it on my thread in the ATI section once it arrives
have you guys updated to the 10.3 or staying with previous 10.3a? do you think it would be a good idea to go from 10.3a to the 10.3 whql?
uhh, there's pretty damn nasty bug on new catalyst v10.3 (does not affect the beta seems only to be at final).
Any other mode of VSYNC on control panel than "Always on" drops absolute full power out take out of the card at instant the screen is still. There seems to absolutely no FPS limiter / lock any were. This sure will kick low end powers down/to power loss.
Easy to test the power, tho, hehe.
Just hit Unigine benchmark up and running and hit ESC (with any other mode at Catalyst control center than 'Always on') and no VSYNC at Unigine. As far I see this also would crash nicely something like Crysis without VSYNC.
Lets correct that my above statement a bit.
Seems I tested faulty the v10.3a v10.3b and v10.3(WHQL). All of these drivers suffers the same error on VSYNC although seems it's only affected by 'Unigine' Benchmark and probably there's bad coding there and not on ATI drivers (not sure on which direction the error is, but the benchmark again works flawless on Catalyst v10.2, heh). The reason why I though this wouldn't affect the v10.3a/b catalyst is because I was updating the system from v10.2 to v10.3 directly and by my mistake I didn't clean the OS, registry and AMD/ATI application data out before I updated and these drivers works with different driver file. (old editions works with 'atikmdag.sys' new editions works with 'atipmdag.sys').
Seems, that I was wrong. The VSYNC is correct, but I was using Temporal AA and High Quality AF. Seems that those needs 100% of time VSYNC forced on.
Old issue should of figure this earlier.
guys i downloaded 10.3 drivers from ati site...is there anything like 10.3 a and 10.3 b version drivers?
which one is better 10.3 / 10.3 a /10.3 b ????
iam useing 10.3b with good results myself
I did notice slight FPS boost in STALKER (SoC and CS in DX9)
My monitor 21" Sony G520P work good with 10.2 with EDID driver in Win7 64bit on ATI 5870 - 1600x1200x100Hz and 1280x960x120Hz but with 10.3 doesnt work. Must back to 10.2 What can I do? Wait to catalyst 10.4. ???
Join the club of affected CRT / HD5xxx / Win 7 x64 users hoping for a hotfix before that...
Catalyst 10.3 won't work on HD5xxx and CRT, Win 7 x64
With this driver i've clocked up my 5870 to 980/1270 with 1212mV. Previously (i think 10.1) 960/1270 with 1250mV
