ATI/AMD has released its latest Windows XP Catalyst driver, version 7.1, for the newer Radeon cards (9600 and newer). There have been quite a few minor fixes, official download available here.

There could be more improvements that they haven't listed, but that's all I can find. The best way to find out if they're any good is to try them and see if you get any benefits.

Finally! Vid acceleration in crossfire. Now if I only had Crossfire. lol. No, seriously, I think it was ridiculous that you couldn't have hardware acceleration with Crossfire enabled.

    • Rome: Total War: Display corruption is no longer noticed when playing the game on an AMD Dual Core or Intel Dual core system containing an ATI X1800 series product. Further details can be found in topic number 737-25103

Yay (if this works, had to disable a core before)

Don't think these will help me at all. AMD/ATi should help out the older cards a little more, but they don't.
