So I changed to a Q9550, but before doing that I updated the BIOS a while ago, and it's been running good for a week. Changed CPU, filled system and started the computer with no peripherals attached, and monitored of there were leaks. I thought it would stop at the BIOS screen, but I heard the HDD spinning so I plugged in the monitor to see what was going on. To my surprise it was in Windows and there was a message telling me that Windows has installed the new devices and I had to reboot. "How can you install software for a new processor? Ok, just lemme connect my mouse and keyboard so that I can click ok". Keyboard didn't work and neither did the mouse. (PS/2 & USB) "Damn plug-n-play, never works". So I just hit the power button. Turned on the computer, to greet me with a blank screen and a GPU spinning at 100%. "Ok, lets clear the BIOS". Didn't work. I'm grabbing a floppy-drive tomorrow to (hopefully be able to) boot from bios-floppy, but I'm wondering if there's anything I can do tonight? Granted, I can change back to the E6600 to see if it works, but it's not very fun to work in my case. Thanks in advance. System info in specs.
