My aunt's Socket 775 motherboard recently died. :banghead: It smells like something overheated near the CPU area. I'm concerned that the CPU is damaged too, but I can't be sure since I don't have a motherboard to test it with. If anyone has something under $50 shipped that will support an e6550 and DDR2 memory, I could really use it. It doesn't have to be anything spectacular, I just need it to work so I can confirm the status of the CPU. If you want to look up my heat, my username is the same as here, Shadowdust. Thanks for any help you guys can provide. :toast:

here's something you may consider if you can push your budget, i'd wait for my P43 imHo. overclocks my q6600 to 3.4ghz so your dual will probly be able to reach 3.2-3.4ghz. avg oc is 3.457ghz. So i'd expect your duo to at least push what my quad did.
