I predict this thread will become a political firefight and morph in to all out America bashing. So I say "IN BEFORE THE LOCK!"

I heard Obama say yesterday that the troop surge worked extremely well, which was unexpected.

    lol...Go Cubbies!

*sigh* and I was raised in that city...seems to get worse and worse. And I just hate it whenever I go back, all my childhood places have turned into something else, thank god they didn't get rid of Pat's Pizza (THE best pizza in Chicago) and the apartment we used to live in costs like $1200/month to live in now :p

doesn't suprise me, its a gang/mob town, the whole place should be razed, along with the bronks, LA, and New Orleans (Katrina didnt destroy enough of it)

I think he needed to say that and it will help him. When the this new VP girl entered the picture, Obama needed to shore up some of the conservative/middle of the road dems, Clinton supporters, and I think he did with this statement.

I visited the city of New Orleans before Katrina and after. The majority of it still smells like piss and vomit,...not kidding folks:confused:

I havn't been there, but I meet alot of them when they came here after Katrina. My neightborhood saw over 250% spike in crime, explain that one to me. I went from an occasional 9mm shot to auto matic weapons fire on some nights, and it started when the New Orleans refugess arrived.

you claim to be a true patriot and yet you state you want a few of OUR major cities destroyed, i think your view is a little skewed

although i fully understand what you were trying to say

So you would take from others in a violent way if you were down on your luck?
You trying to justify these thugs increasing his neighborhoods crime 250%?
It surprises me and it... ,would surprise me. if anyone I hang with would do that.

And if I opened my doors to help hurricane victims, then they "shat" all over my neighborhood and city,...I would not be responsible for my actions.

i wouldn't judge until you've been in the situation, sure some of it is out of pure greed and it would be naive to think it wouldn't be, but some of it is out of pure desperation to support your self and your family, if the city i knew was wiped off of the face of the planet, and there is not much sign of help from the government, would you not resort to say robbing a store or something out of a means for survival, i do NOT condone crime in anyway but if you had no where else to turn would you yourself not turn to crime as a means of survival?

also would you take from others in a violent way if your life depended on it? the answer is yes you will always put yourself and your family first before all others, it is basic instinct

also "down on your luck" isn't a very accurate way of describing it, right now "im down on my luck" but those people for the most part were fucked, i was there on a relief effort a while back, man i've just never seen anything like it

also after seeing the conditions some of these people were in, prison seemed like a better option to some of them
    kenkickr says thanks.
