My personal computer is fried, but I have been told that I can get a motherboard and a processor for Christmas as long as it is under $200. I need suggestions. I don't know much about hardware, but I'm learning. I'd like the best I can get for the $200 limit. I like to play games but more important is my adobe software for building websites.

    Help Please?

What RAM are you putting in it?

Off hand I would suggest a phenom2 x3 720 with an inexpensive ddr2 am2+ motherboard or an inexpensive ddr3 am3 motherboard. As Doninkansas points out buy whichever motherboard type which supports your current ram.

BTW I like that phenom2 x3 cpu for its unlocked multiplier and its very nice price.

EDIT: hey did you notice my avataar is of a baby chicken(or bird, w/e it is) and doninkansas' avataar is a dead chicken with a knife? :O
