If it was locally hosted or with friends I would join in.

I play competitively in Natural selection 2. I am in the middle ground of skill where I am good enough to play competitively but also one of the lower tier competitive players. For me it would depend on who I am playing and if I thought I could win for any game. I could see myself playing small once a week or so. I used to play bitcointerror where you would get money for each kill. I didn't do so well there. No matter what I would play for cash if I didn't have to put any in.

For the folks that wouldn't spend a dime playing games, would you have spent money playing poker at a casino?

If so, I don't see the reason why you would do it for poker but not for games.

because poker is done in a casino with girls, booze, and shows. Gaming is done in in hole in the wall places with nerds, grease, and farts.

You sir are not gaming in the right location. I game often with a girl not far off doing her own thing and I lack the grease and farts.

Not just in casinos, people play poker at home with their friends too. People play online poker on various websites all the time like pokerstars.

Doesn't it really come down to if you think you can win?

furi0nst0rmrage on steam, hit me up. I was thinking the same thing. I was a huge DOTA / LOL player, and was thinking about getting serious with Dota2.

gaming at home with a hot wife doesn't count. Replace the farts with nagging and constant talking and the net experience is the same or worse.

Hot chick paid to stand there and be nice and get drinks and compliment you at a casino beats it hands down.

At the end of the day if I bet on gaming and lose I had a terrible time (as losing sucks) and have nothing to show for the money spent.

If I gamble at a casino and lose, I got to look at something pretty while she complimented me plus I got a good meal at a buffet, and got to see a show. My money may be lost but the overall night was pleasurable (that's how they get you)

I got lucky. She is quiet and not nagging, and if anything I am the talkative one out of the two of us.

I am not a gambler unless I know I have great odds. Like above 50%.
