I'm trying to get 1080 proper service from Shaw. Haven't had proper tv service in a year. Finally went off on them in a phone call. I get a new digital box with pvr, and 10 bucks off a month for a year. Sometimes you just have to say something!!!

Yea at my Grandmothers I complained monthly on her behalf she was paying like $30 a month for TV compared to her regular bill around $70. Finally after multiple calls and a year of bills at half price they finally sent a tech out to update the lines which were originally run by Adelphia cable. they went defunct in 2006 original line was run in 1995. Tried getting TWC to run new lines but they refused so I just kept forcing the issue. Finally they relented.

It's kind of funny. The competition is fierce. They will make concessions to keep you as a client. You just have to know that, and use it.

you can only threaten to cancel service so many times. I think each customer has a limit. pretty sick, huh?

I've complained once about the price and my current provider [charter] lowered my monthly cost for as long as I have their service. It is only $10 off but I will always get that off. I've been with them for my web service since 2007.

I used to be a Time Warner Field Service Tech. One of my jobs was to make sure our customers received a great signal. That meant spending the time to replace parts as needed and even dropping a new line from the pole or ped to the house. My customers loved me. Many techs would just get the minimum signal strength then run out. Not I.

Everytime my promo price ends I go to the local cable office and they give me the same promo again for 6 months. I tried doing it on the phone once but they refused.

Cox only lowers monthly rates for a 12 month term so I have to call them every year, but they've always given me a decent discounted rate. Currently paying 46.99 for the internet, 3.47 for state taxes on my Ooma and 15.98 for Netflix/Hulu+.

Best,

LC
