Hello all, I am new here writing to this forum and am in the process of updating my computer. I have a couple questions i was hoping you could answer or give advice on.

I am updating my OS, Motherboard, processor and adding memory. I am putting in the Intel I7 DP55KG Extreme Series Motherboard with the Intel Core i7 Processor 2.80 GHz Quad core. Installing windows 7 and will be using 6 gig Ram. I currently am running a 700watt PSU.

My question is i am currently using the nvidea 9800 GT (512) video card in my current system and am wondering if this will work with this new setup. Is there another video card out around 100.00 that would work better?

Thx ahead of time

Hi vinny, welcome to TPU! Your 9800GT will work fine with your setup. :)

Welcome to TPU! yea your 9800GT will be fine. for 100$ you really can get a new card that would be better unless you buy a used one from here in the forums and that really wouldnt be too big of a diffrence. If you a gamer and want a good card either wait til the new Nvidias come out or get a 5870 when you can afford it.

Yeah, your GPU will work fine, but ... the rest of your system is like a hulk and your grahpic card is like ..., well, so small compared to the rest of your PC components.

If I were you, I'd somehow get a little more money and get either Geforce 260 or HD5770. Both are under 200 bucks (but well past 100 dollars mark).
