Just thought I should add this, whenever I started my computer this morning it started, went into windows, I went away for like 2min, when I came back the screen was all black and I couldnt do anything to get it back. When I restarted it the screen was still black and the computer didnt even start properly (no beep sound in the bios) so I had to restart it a couple of times before it started and now its working again, however it is still restarting whenever I start a game...

Someone please help me find out what the problem can be!

(thanks for all your help everyone that has already posted btw)

In your Power Management (Control Panel -> Power Options icon), turn off blanking your screen maybe OR ontop of that? Turn OFF "hibernation"??

* Can't hurt to try this...

They are both off.

The black thing happened again, my monitor just goes black all of a sudden (I was on the computer this time)
Also I use a program called SpeedFan to check my temp, whenever my temp goes up to 50 SpeedFan shows a flame (this might be just random or something)

My computer makes a wierd noice (cant make out which part of it does it), you can listen to it here (need Realplayer) http://alea.mine.nu/wierd.amr

Sounds like both the PSU and GPU are on their way to PC heaven.

What you've done is burned out your PSU with the new GPU. And if the PSU burns out (or partly) the voltage regulators may go off. This could undervolt your whole system... which is less likely to cause a problem... but I've heard that both underclocking and/or undervolting a GPU can cause damage... But the partly damaged PSU might also overvolt. How does this happen? One or both of the 5V and 12V rail could overvolt, ie. 6V or 13V. But overvolting can also occur through one rail undervolting? How? Well if the 5v rail drops to say 4V but the 12v rail stays at 12v, then the difference between the rails stretches from 7v to 8v and can cause havok.

My tips:

1./ Stop using your PC. You may be causing more damage and dont realise it

2./ It is very obvious you need a bigger, better PSU. Do it.

3./ I once had an unfathomable crash/no boot problem solved by replacing a visual perfect IDE cable with a new one. I was stunned that that was the problem, and still can't explain it.
