Computer seems to have died

So moved into a new apartment today and finally got the desktop listed in my specs hooked up. Well it booted reallllly slow but let me login only to BSOD after about 5 minutes of sluggish operation. It then proceeded to slightly powerup and off, and continue to do that til I cut the power.

I swapped the RAM but same issue, made it to the windows screen and BSOD and then power up/down without Posting.

Next tried the hard drives, removed all except the ssd and tried to install a fresh windows install. It installed but BSOD on initial boot. And rinse and repeat with the power up/down no post.

Next tried a fresh windows install on a 1TB drive, which went ALOT slower than the SSD. In the end, same issue BSOD following by power up/down no post.

So that narrows down the issue to CPU/MOBO/PSU. I don't believe it's the GPU as none of these symptoms seem to point that way. PSU I don't think it is, BSOD's aren't in a PSU's usual faults. So MOBO/CPU is where my money is at.

So likely going to buy a I5-6600K, ASUS MAXIMUS VIII HERO ATX, and 16GB of DDR4 from amazon unless someone replies here with an explanation to my issues.

check your HSF it may have come loose in the move causing your CPU to overheat

A bad psu can cause bsods too. Try testing with another psu before you go for a straight upgrade

This, however I was argue a connection could have been broken even with it tightened. One big bump in the road the pins might slightly bend inward. Reseating the CPU isn't a bad idea consider how it got from point A to point B.

Still trying to find my windows key, but it does seem to be running much smoother. Maybe the H60 died or was on its last legs? Or perhaps I just reattached something while installing the Noctua. Either way gonna stress test it once I find my windows key, because I already cut the shit out of my knuckles installing the Noctua that I don't want to troubleshoot anymore.

I know its not really important but how old is your system and how long have you had it? It could also be a wireing issue in the apartment.

Is it generating minidump files when it BSODs? C:\windows\minidump typically

If you upload one of the minidump files to this crash dump analyzer you may find a hint as to the cause as well. Also check eventvwr

so it worked?
Check the H60 outside the rig... just plug it properly to power, then touch the block and try to feel the system work or ear the noise of the pump ... may be something unplugged when you move on from your last location,

Oh man, my Antec AIO water cooler died a while back. I was out of town for ~3 weeks and had the PC off the whole time, came back and the pump had seized. A note to anyone with a AIO (or even a regular watercooler) don't leave the pump off for any significant amount of time, especially if it's past warranty like mine was.

mod it into a custom loop, re-use rad ... its going to be the best you can do ... also waterblock... thats what im planing to do with my current AIO
