Exactly. Grab up one of mine. I know on newegg it says Dynapower but trust me ITS NOT! Its like $20.

I'll be going there soon. I'll just test it with a my spare PSU. Then if it works with the spare I guess it's time to replace the Rosewill?

if the board boots up with a spare PSU - as was mentioned before, check that all voltages are stable.

If you have a thumb drive and there's a USB port on the front of the case - load Everest Home Edition, PC Wizard 07, and Sandra XL - run those and verify that they'll all reporting similar system voltages. If you have a mulit-meter, or a PSU tester, though, use those tools first as it's better to verify a bad PSU at the source instead of from some form of software.

Anything that looks abnormally high (or low), or settings that fluctuate rapidly will typically indicate a bad PSU.

Again, though, if the whole system is acting dodgy, erratic or starting to smell with a spare PSU - turn the system off, and start looking into RMAing (if possible) or replacing the mobo.

that makes what . . . 4-6 months? IDK - you'd have to check with them, but I think they only have a 90-day return policy, unless you bought some kind of extended warranty.

Still, check with them, though. Newegg is really good about coming through with customer service issues when most other sites wouldn't even think about it, especially if the component is still under manufacturer warranty.

I bet something has crawled in there and died. Check for mice and bugs.

A mouse or large bug could have gotten into the power supply and got fried. After a bit it starts to stink but then the smell goes away. After it dries out it can get caught up in the fan and overheat/fry the PS.

Could also be a giant dust bunny. I've seen them do the same thing. Get heated up when one breaks free, stink to high even as it gets heated up and eventually gets caught up in something.

I would consider it alright, i never had any instabilties with it and its lasted me so far a year + 2 months. I have a screenshot of my voltages in uGuru in my "temps ok" thread.

Looks like I am getting a small overvoltage at stock.

Power supply vote for me, get something more reliable, like an Epower or something.

When I had my Soltek system , lightning struck our house. Mine was also on 24/7..
Ask if it has been thundering/raining any day and if it was connected to a gnd wall outlet (mine wasn't)..

Also the smell from 1 capacitor is like "eew", but when all go off in the PSU (and mobo), believe me it smells like sh*t. I wish I have had a digital camera back then, because there was nothing to save...nothing.

So it's working with my "test" PSU. I checked the cord on the back and it was loose with a little white mark on it. I replaced it now. Any recommendations on a new PSU?

Ahh so you need something rated around 22a. Look into an FSP.
