Connector/Plug I've never seen before.

    I'm trying to figure out what this connector is. It is found on a dog tag maker.

    I think you can find them on older music equipment as well, and other serial applications.

    Correct - MIDI uses the same connection type. You can find MIDI connections on old electronic synth/keyboards.
