convert video files?

my video files are .ts and .vop, and i would like to know if i can convert them to mp3-4 files? if you could point me in the right direction i would apperciate it. thanks. sam

mp3 is Audio file only. mp4 is a container like mkv.

have u tried Freemake Video Converter? it's free and does support DXVA and Cuda for encoding.

Time for a real question: "What the heck are you doing?"

.ts is a transport stream file extension.
.vop is a Visual Orangator Project extension.

The transport stream is useful for video or audio, and I've seen them in generic video/audio situations. I'm abashed to say, but I've never seen .vop. I've seen .vob, or video objects, come from DVDs.

So, what the heck are you doing? Converting DVDs to other video formats is one thing, but not knowing what is being done really puts us into a tight spot considering recommendations...

what i have been trying to do is use my computer and stream my videos to my tv by network. and my movies are in a ts file format and cant be read, but i play them thru media center and media player just fine. i am using my movies as the collection management, and on this computer media center plays them flawlessly, so i should be able to stream that to my tv, but it seems i need a media center compatible device to do that, and i dont want to buy an xbox for just that. im lost, lol. thanks

OK, now I get it. You're trying a stream media from a smart device (computer), to a "dumb" one.

To convert a DVD file (.vob or .ts) to be streamed I would recommend handbrake.
