Cooler Master Rocks!

So yesterday I got myself the CM 690III (Transparent Window) and the Corsair RM 850. The cabinet wasn't equipped with rubber grommets or thumbscrews for pci brackets. Also, while trying to fit the optical drive, my carelessness caused the rather thin plastic retention clip to snap. I contacted CM support, and they said they will ship all those (including the retention clip) directly to me for free ASAP (well, as soon as can be expected in these holidays

). How cool is that?

And how odd is the stock cooler ?

The GPU too is ancient. No SSD. Lots of stuff to buy for a decent build. Gonna take quite a while ...

well you could have gotten better but atleast you can see what it is, and the cable management looks oki, atleast i can hide all my cable mess underneath the mobo tray in my HAF XB xD

I'm still quite undecided about the cooler. The H220 just got re-stocked, but the price is quite high. And they are giving only 2 yrs warranty

The cable management part isn't good at all. I"ll redo everything from the ground up once the grommets arrive. It is supposed to be good, since the psu has all flat cables and I'm not using a lot of those, but I'm not happy at all with the job. I thought it would be easy but looks like it needs quite a bit of planning.

the Swiftech is indeed nice and the price is high even in my country, but i choose the H80i instead bcs i dunno if i will go Micro-ATX case or ITX sometime next year depends on a lot.

Here in Kolkata temps get well over 40C in summer. I donno if a H100i would be able to tackle that, with my crappy 4670K.

Stock cooler is fine but obviously it's not for 40c ambient temp.

I'll say get H100i as soon as you can before summer. If you can, that is. I'm not trying to force you to do anything here, but considering the high ambient temp, I'd make coolers like closed LCS and fans the top priority. Good luck with the upgrade plan, mate.

The stock cooler isn't fine at all, bro. It's winter and quite cold. The cpu is currently at stock, turbo disabled and only 0.650V for both core and cache, but it still throttles under stress test. The question that is killing me is whether the H100i is good-enough to tackle all that heat at that high ambient temps. Also, although the warranty on the Corsair is quite good, it is totally closed. So, unlike the H220, the coolant cannot be changed. So in that respect the Swiftech looks like a better deal, but the warranty on that is only 2 years. What if the pump dies after 2 years? The price on the H220 is quite high as it is, and we have to pay a LOT of import duty and taxes too. Just can't make up my mind :banghead:

as much as i love coolermaster cases (i have the version II of that case) i freakin hate their PSU's.

(i've only dealt with their low level stuff, but the low level corsair stuff is literally a world above low level coolermaster that i've used so far. if they wanna send me PSU's for testing they are welcome to do so to change my mind

)
