Cooler Master proudly announces the 80 Plus Gold Certified high wattage power supply, the highest rated 80 Plus power supply to-date by achieving a typical efficiency of 90.05% .

Cooler Master has long built a strong reputation based on industry-leading designs in coolers and computer cases, while its power supplies have often been over-shadowed. Today, marks a new era in the company’s foray into the market of power supplies. With the UCP reaching new 80 Plus Gold specifications, Cooler Master has put itself at the cutting edge of PSU design.

Details of the 80 Plus Gold qualifying certification can be viewed here.

And CM does it once again, I think I'm going to get CoolMaster Tattooed across my forehead.

I have the original 900w UCP, it is awesome. I am glad they raised the bar even higher!

I had two Cooler Masters PSUs before this Corsair unit. A 500Watt followed by a 460Watt, both with 2x18A rails. They both handled anything I threw at them. The 500 ran insane amounts of load with a busted fan until it finally fried gloriously. Rock on Cooler Master.

The one at newegg is AAAA-A3,and this one is AAAA-A4 so they must be different.

The first 80+ Gold certificate went to SeaSonic, I think, so this CM isn't the first 90%+ PSU around... Anyway, I'm curious what's inside - it's very likely to be aChannel Welll, they've got quite a few Gold models listed on 80plus.org, including a 950W monster.

Antec's new professional series PSUs have a gold cert as well. So Seasonic, CM and Antec Professional. Looks like Corsair needs to catch up :)
