COOLING what to do?

Hi guys I was wondering my dad recently bought me a new pc that im pleased with but i was thinking of buying a watercooling system can anyone reccomend one?

Recomend you not use Plastic, Acrylic, or Resin waterblocks, they crack too often and destroy other components.

So, your dad bought you a PC - I say: stick with air cooling.

Out-of-the-Box Solutions by Thermaltake etc. are mostly crap. The best thing is to build one on your own with good components, but thats not as easy as it sounds. If you are into overclocking to the max and having a fancier PC than your friends

watercooling is definitely a nice option, but for standard gaming and moderate overclocking and/or a silent system, air cooling is still the best way to go - especially for price/performance.

I don't know about water, but my uncle has a Thermaltake Big Typhoon on his 5200+ Windsor and it never goes over 40C playing F.E.A.R. even during the summer.

a) thanks for you suggestions guys
b) The reason is i was interested in overclocking for high level and when i can pro gaming
c) My pc has core 2 duo @ 2400MHz, 8800GTX, ASus p5n32-e 32 sli mother board, 2gb of ram 300gb of memory and as far as cooling goes it has a 28 inch fan on the side and a couple of normal ones inside

Yeah stay away from acrylic blocks if you do go water. i had a tt big water 745 and the block cracked the day after i got it, leaked on my x800 :eek:

and messed up my mobo!

Unless your temps are high, or you want to really push your CPU, save yourself the trouble and keep it on air.

Its at stock just so you know his uncles cpu

sheesh lol. as gar as upgrade, you don't really need one, besides a nice heatsink and fan... check out the Zalman lines and Thermalright.. both reputable companies with awesome products.. you don't really need water cooling unless you wanna realllyyyyyyyyyyyyy push your system or you have a high temp problem, but there is other ways around that...

No watercooling needed to be a "pro gamer"... so is overclocking.
Your system is good enough for all the actual MP-related games out there. CoD2, CS:S, FEAR, etc. It will handle these with ease.

Stick with air-cooling. Scythe and Thermalright are top-notch.

There are so many great Air Coolers on the market right now, some much better than the lower end WC systems...not to mention less expensive, and no maintenance.

Gotta give props to my Enzotech Ultra-X cooler. It REPLACED my Scythe Ninja cooler. It's easier to install, and my temps are better.
