Copying songs from iPod to Computer

Well, this isn't computer related (in a way that VGA or CPU is) but it still kind of goes under hardware and I couldn't think of a better place to post this.

The title basically explains all my needs. I need some software that will allow me to copy some tunes from my iPod to my PC (it's extremely crucial that the Artwork stays). I came across a few software packages but all of them seem slightly dodgy and most have like a 10 song limit (I tried a few with the help of Microsoft Security Essentials) so it would be really great to get a bit of software that's free and unlimited to use. Or if it has to be payed for, it should really be huge (I mean like, really popular). I actually posted this thread not because I can't find a software myself but because I want some on advice about which particular software is reliable and safe to use.

Don't take it the wrong way but did you think about what I'm trying to achieve before you posted?

iTunes does not have this ability (pretty dumb, eh?) unless you want to go through hidden files and copy the music (but that causes all of the tags and stuff mess up so it's too much effort). Other than that, iTunes has no integrated ability to do what I need.

EDIT: After some more in-depth research I found a software called SharePod which has unlimited uses, it's slightly short on the functions (however, it doesn't affect me) and it seems to be reliable according to iLounge.
