Can't you just use Windows "error checking" and make sure you check the box for "Scan for and attempt recovery for bad sectors"? I remember when i use to work downtown we'd get so many users with problems with their 1.44Mb floppy disks and i would just use Windows Error checking utility and it would read the diskette just fine after that. hmm....

Note: Besides why can't you people ever post with details in your statements? Like i have a 2Gb Corsair blah blah blah, and just couple of days ago i noticed that it wasn't reading it through the usb port and i've tried this and this (which you have and i'm surprised) or something....

"you" people? Alot of us do it because we understand what someone is talking about. If we need more info we ask for it. We read enough of each others post to be able to fill in the details. For example if he made a thread a week ago about his ports flaking out and then made this. I probably wouldnt tell him to format because a surge probably killed it. Don't judge us on YOUR personal preference please go take a seat over their.

    what software did you use?
    garyinhere and freaksavior say thanks.

TestDisk should be able to resurrect partitions, though it may be too late now you've reformatted (i.e. created a new partition over the top).

PhotoRec from the same open source project can recover more than 320 file types from disk space, so you may be in luck there.

If you have any trouble using them (if ya give them a go) shout back.

Oh yeah - wasn't clear if he got it formatted correctly.
