I'm looking to buy this for my amd phenom ii x4 as the fan is too noisy. I heard the h50 is not compatible for amd for I want to get the h60.

I don't know if you're interested in an H100, or if you can fit it, but it's $95 on Newegg w/ code EMCJJNA27, $80 after MIR.

If not, how about a bumo :p

anybody here knows the difference between the h50, h60 the new h60 and the h100? are they all noiseless, that's what I'm most interested is low noise level. I had it with these noisy computers.

According to NewEgg:

Block Compatibility: Intel LGA 115x, 1366, 2011

The products shipped by Newegg are not ready for AMD. However, Newegg customer who wishes to receive free AMD bracket can contact Corsair by emailing rmaservice@corsair.com and get one in your convenience

The 920 is very similar to Corsair's H70 as far as radiator size & performance should be about the same too.

If you are looking for quiet, you probably shouldn't be looking at the Kuhler 920- the fans it comes with are some of the loudest around.

I used Thermaltake's Water 2.0 Extreme (240mm rad) and on low its nearly inaudible and still cools quite nicely. The H100 is also very quiet on the lowest fan setting. Both allow for fan adjustments out of the box, although Tt's out the box fan control is much more functional than Corsair's.

Why do they come with fans? I wanted to change to a silent solution to replace the noise level on my current stock heatsink, can you tell me about the lowest fan setting what different it does from a higher fan setting? again why do they need fans if they cool with water.

I think you should read up on how these water coolers work. They are not fanless (passive) like you may be thinking. In general water moves heat from the cpu to the radiator and fans move air through the radiator transferring the heat carried in the water into the surroundings.

You could use better fans too like the Corsair SP series: Computer Hardware, Case Fans, sp120 They also come with noise reducers if they are too loud.

my stock fan doesn't come with information on how much noise it makes so I can't compare it with the fans from that site, in any way I don't want any noise I want to buy that water cooler the less noisy possible if someone could recommend me which one, and then get a gian heatsink for my video card.

I have a Antec 920 cooling a OC'd 2500k@4.9Ghz. even when stressed with prime95 the temps stay well below 70'c for everyday use Ive not seen it go above 60'c even when playing ARMA II or BF3. it only goes above 60'c if the ambient temps are high.

I'm reading reviews for the h50 h60 and h100 and they all have negative comments about them, the h60, h100 have comments as being noisy on high setting and that h50 tends to break after a few months of use, I'm starting to hate computers they all have issues.
Is there a cpu cooler that doens't need a fan or is that not possible?

For watercooling the radiator needs a fan on it. The simple solution would be getting a low db fan. My H60 is silent w/ silent fans on it. My h60 is for sale btw..Looking to get $40 shipped.

is that silent fan the original corsair fan you're selling right now?
