Corsair today announced a new addition to its AX family of power supplies, an enthusiast-grade model named AX1500i. This 1500 W beast of a PSU is claimed to have 94% efficiency at 50% load, and features a fully-modular design, 100% Japanese capacitors, a low-noise 140 mm fluid dynamic bearing fan, DSP-controlled, real-time voltage regulation, Corsair Link support and 8 PCIe power connectors (for quad-GPU configurations).

The AX1500i is backed by a 7-year warranty and is set to arrive in Q2 priced at $449.99.

Is the OEM Flextronics like the rest of the AXi series?

Finally, here. In today's multi GPU power is a question if it is enough to drive 4 x R9 - 290X OC or GTX 780ti OC best option and it is there room for OC processor. Review ,difficult to say something plz.
If it is as good as its smaller brother will be one of the best solution but the price certainly will not be popular.o_O

Corsair was rather conservative in the PCIe connectors count. It should have a couple more for just in case :)

    Misinform much?

It's not CWT. This is made by Flextronics like the other AXi's.

    EzioAs and Frick say thanks.

I'll wait for the reviews and see how it compares to the Enermax Maxrevo 1500W which is ~$100 less and claims the same 94% efficiency...

There's actually 10 PCIe connectors. 8 cables. Two of the cables have two connectors.

    crmaris says thanks.

Looking forward to reviews tho. Even if it's something I'll never need.
