corsair xms2 ddr800 2x2gb kit

hello there im currently having some trouble with this ram i just brought i tried to put it in my asus p5e no luck hmmm...so i put my old ram back in set all the bios settings to stock tried that no luck went to the bios again set voltages timmings memory frequency and fsb strap all manually still no luck even with one stick so i decided to test the ram in another machine my media one with a p31-ds3L wacked both sticks in found 4gb fine posted got into windows and mem test was fine and ran othos for 6hrs what could the problem be :confused:

Did you try increasing nb voltage on the 4g kit?

Well.. An easy answer to give you would be to take the battery out and let it sit for a day. :ohwell:

Load default settings. Save & Exit ^___~

if you get it to boot then u can start overclocking.

northbridge ive tried to 1.55v that extreme enough for it ive tried default settings :/ ill give it a go erocker
but i dont really see how raising the nb helps memory just mainly for purely fsb overclocking

The nb is also the memory controller. 4g of ram is making it work harder, hence more volts. I agree with erocker also, reset cmos.

going from stock voltage on nb 1.25>1.55 is enough of a jump but ill try that today with the cmos im working all day and wont get a chance to get on the pc tommorow

sucess !!! ive got them working

instead of using the yellow slots channel A/0 tried the black ones channel B/1 and they seem to be running fine now dont know what it does like the 1st channel but meh its working im happy

urm what is the bios option which you enable/disable to allow 4gb to run on xp ?

It's impossible to get 4Gb working in XP 32-bit, because a 32-bit operating system can only address 4Gb of space, and some of that is reserved for your add-in cards (IE graphics card). You won't see the full 4Gb, the only way to do that is to go to x64.

thanks so why when my system posts it only detect 3328mb ?? even in bios it shows it
