Counter Strike: Source freezes on startup

When I try to boot up CS:S it goes through the normal logo with the dead, then go to the valve logo but after that it just plain freezes, alt tabbing doesn't work and the only way to close it is through the task manager. I've tried deleteing all the games I have that use the source engine and downloading them, and it doesn't work. Has anyone here had this problem?

that happened to me once, but i deleted everything even steam, reinstalled and it worked like new again. Thats just me tho, i never bothered doing research as to what was the real problem

i recall having similar problems with overlap apps (FRAPS, etc) and multi monitor, a long time ago.

edit: sometimes the load times are just shit too, so waiting wont hurt.

Well, I'm running multi monitors and I have fraps running so I'll try again

EDIT: It was fraps! It runs perfectly fine now, thanks for the tip!
