CPU fans keep turning off

I don't know if I am freaking out or what..

I moved back to air cooling yesterday, I mounted my PS120SE and 2x T30s. I have run this combo many times. Then I thought of @tabascosauz so I then mounted FC140 with 2x T30s, a combo I have not run before.. I would normally run an NF-A14 3K and a T30 in front of it. But now I am running the 2x T30s, and both fans are stopping. I have never seen that before, and I have spent some time trying all kind of stuff, and this is a first for me. I have cleared the CMOS more than a few times now, and before I flash it, I just want to know that this is normal and I am just freaking out

Have you moved the fan mode selector switch to Hybrid - this selects a semi-passive mode where the fan can be off.

Negative, in my screen shot you can see them rev up to 3200.. pretty cray cray.

According to TPU review of T30s they have amazingly linear pwm range all the way to 0% so in theory they shouldn't stop unless your fan profile/motherboard tells them to stop. (except for the hybrid mode but you ruled that out)

I guess you can force a higher pwm signal at low temperatures, or move to somewhere warmer because your idle temps are crazy low there

I have one of these fans connected to a Aqua computer fancontroller where i can increase/decrease fan PWM signal as low a 1 % at the time.

So i can tell you that my fan with advance mode on turns fan off from 4 % pwm signal and below and turns fan on again from 6 % pwm signal.

Based on that you will need at least 5 % pwm signal at all time to keep the fan spinning at all time, maybe higher pwm with permance mode on.

My point is that the fan can still turn of even when in the highest mode or advance mode if the PWM signal is low enough.

CPU fans keep turning off

I have had this fan stopping issue with Noctua fans when powering up my system, replaced them with Be Quiet ones that don't have a 0 rpm mode.

I think something got wonky, if I use the standard setting, fans sit at like 2200rpm, fans are at default min of 20%, same behavior up to 35%

At 20% min should be about 450-550rpm

Asus is like this sometimes I think. A flash should clear it up, but I kinda like it

It usually happens after a CPU swap, like what I did. I booted my 5900X out again.

It is all good buddy. UEFI is a bit messed up and needs to be flashed, but I don't want to yet

I flashed down, then back up.. check the wires for breaks.. everything seems normal..

Maybe I just did a great job with my TIM application :confused:

Like I said, first time running this cooler/fan combo, but I have run them separately countless times, and never had fans on my CPU stop lol

Well..

Since this is my thread I figured I would show what a good air cooler can do with a little airflow

My ram is at stock speed, but with way tighter subs than DOCP. I am running a pretty low SOC voltage too..

Here was my 2008 cure for air cooling issues.

Roughly 5,500 cfm.

I need one those for my furnace it's overloading the line on startup it's on, probably because it's 20+ years old & the bearings finally gave out.

Been there a couple times. Not hard to replace actually. Last time I had to replace the ejection blower, not the main one. Piece of cake. Just remember to flip the breaker off.
