Idle means it does nothing. System Idle Process shows you the percentage of cpu power that is currently available for you to use. So when it stays at 99 it means your computer isn't performing any tasks, or it's idle. Think of it as a car engine simply running while the car is stationary. When you open a game or program the System Idle Process goes down. Let's say the value comes to 1 or 0, that means that your system is currently using it's resources and the cpu to the max to perform the task that was requested of it.

Did you turn off turbo mode from BIOS or UEFI? Or put it in economy mode which limiting max voltage and core clock?

If that 1 was a previous result of yours, and now you score 0.77, something may be interfering while you are running the benchmark. I can't think of anything else.

It's normal for your CPU usage to bounce around, but when completely idle it should sit at 0% or 1% and momentarily jump to say 5%. Then back down to 0%. This is my experience with my Athlon II X4. (just tested before posting).

In my experience, if you have your operating system configured to "power saver". The CPU will be more stressed and the idle will be slightly higher.

Also if you're using ATI's video card, their new Catalyst driver in the "cpu power" option if you set the minimum MHz higher your idle performance will be better.

It is set on balanced... I tryed now , and put silent mode on , and there aro no spikes , cpu usage @ 1. 2 % :)
