crossfire and 975x question

I plan on running two x1800xl's in software crossfire without a mastercard, and was wondering if there are any platform requirements? Do I need a motherboard with an xpress 3200 chipset, or would a crossfire compatible 975x chipset work? Thanks in advance.

Should work in the 975 board without problems, as long as you use the right drivers. Someone will have to chime in here on exactly which drivers started soft-crossfire, as I don't remember.

When was that chart released? I could have sworn they opened up soft-Crossfire on the 1800XT's

I looked at it a couple a times myself, thats why I asked!!LOL(still wasn't sure).
