Crossfire and master display device question

I just installed a second 7950 into my computer to partake in Crossfire and it appears that I get no video signal coming out of the HDMI.

Card one, XFX 7950.
Card two, Gigabyte 7950.

I've tried with card one in in slot one and card two in slot two. Card one produces video, but card two does not.

I changed their order to improve cooling environment. Card one in slot two and produced video. Even though card two is in slot one and is read first by bios it produces no video. Enticing it to do so in windows/ccc by using the detect display option doesn't work either.

I've just tried to use card two solo, and still no video.

whipped all of my drivers and booted with my 2500k to make sure all drivers were gone. reinstalled card two and still no video regardless of which slot is being used.

Even though I have card two in slot one and card one in slot two, successfully crossfired, I'd still like to know why my gigabyte card isn't producing video which and why I can't make it the primary display device.

I'm starting to feel like I bought a broken card...of cores it's used.

Has anyone come across this type if symptom, functional gpu, but no functioning display?

I'm going to keep thinking on this one. Any insight?

Hi

This - "I'm starting to feel like I bought a broken card...of cores it's used"
[is possible previous owner flashed the card with wrong vbios for attempted OC or was a bitminer wanting a higher #hash rate]

Use GPU-Z take a screen shot and upload here

Test vga card in another system
Check with another vga cable
Check with another Monitor

go here fill in full system specs manufacturer make, model number and opperating system

Note: Include the Model Number for the Gigabyte HD 7950 [#Hash Numbers from the back of the vga cards PCB {Serial Number Not Required}

What do you mean card two has no display? You only use the display on one card with Crossfire.

Run the cards one installed at a time to confirm they work

I can do this when i get home.

Test vga card in another system
Check with another vga cable
Check with another Monitor
I only have one system, and one monitor. My xfx card works regardless of slot and the gigabyte card works in either slot, but produces no video out put even if it is the only card installed. Currently i can only use it if it's linked with Virtu MPV.
I've read of ram having adverse effects on video out put.

go here fill in full system specs manufacturer make, model number and opperating system

My specs are already filled out. sans hash#'s
I'll try to complete this when I'm home.

This.
This. This. This. This. This. This.

I do see what you mean though. If the cards are not in crossfire, you can use the second GPU to drive displays, but doesn't by default when the system boots into the BIOS. When Crossfire is enabled, the secondary crossfired card can not output any displays. You could try resetting the BIOS after swapping the positions of the cards to see if that makes a difference, but just swapping positions on my rig is enough.

I take it that the Gigabyte card works fine on it's own?

The gigabyte card has no output, ever. I've stopped playing with it since my original card has output and crossfire is working.

The only thing I have yet to try is the gigabyte card in another system, and pulling my 2032 battery from the mobo.

I pretty much got tired of playing with it, and I can't really return a used card. :(

1000gpu/1400 mem, temp maxed at 76.
