I just bought Crucial Ballistix Tracer PC 6400 C4 2GB kit, but after install, it seems that the ram do not run on the default frequency of 800mhz, instead run on 667mhz only. Even after setting the bios to manually run on 800mhz... the bios still detect the max freq for the ram only 667mhz. In addition, the latency not 4-4-4-12 but set on 5-5-5-15 while the cpuz says there is not EPP support.

The packaging write the right thing, PC 6400 C4 but i cannot re-confirm whether the ram is right or wrong bcoz there is not proper written on the ram... i attached the pics taken.

Mobo is Biostar Tforce 560 a2+, which has been tested to run Corsair XMS2 6400C4 smoothly... even i have test the crucial on another mobo, Abit IB9, the result still the same runs default on 667mhz only.

Both CPUZ and Everest detect that this ram is Micron Technology PC 5300. It is suppose to be like that? I know that Crucial is a division of Micron, but why PC 5300??? That's the value ram, not high performance! Can somebody explain this? :banghead:

It is crucial using micron value ram and OC it then sell it to be the high performance ram?? but this is unacceptable, bcoz its using the lower freq ram, how can I overclock it further if the ram needs to be overclock to 800mhz first... i bought this 800mhz so I can overclock higher than that....

RMA them, sounds like you've got a dodgy set of RAM.
