I just run CyberLink PowerDVD 8 , and at the "Video settings " has and option about hardware acceleration by AVIVO .

I did check this option , but after starting the movie , i noticed at the player properties ,
    that was inactive.

Is there something that i am missing ?

sometimes that is misleading. Open up CCC and see if your GPU is used and how much percentage.

load up a Blue ray disk if you have the drive for it.

    No Blue ray here ...

But even that way , on my Sony black trinitron CRT , the quality looks amazing.

In the last three years with the Nvidia card, i had forgot that high quality video,
comes for free when you pass the door of ATI . :)
