I've just installed and got this error.

then i downloaded that dll file from ddl-files site and pasted to windows/system.

but then it doesn show error but doesnt give any msg too but i feel my system busier so i checked in process--it was showing cricket process running and consuming memory..

    i terminated process..

now tell me anyway to enable game on my laptop?

I've written all my pc specs in my profile..
    you can check it..

I hope someone will find solution for me..

    Thanks.

Look on the disk. There should be a DirectX directory or some option somewhere to install DirectX. Installing whatever version the disk has and it should take care of it. There's like two separate version of DirectX out there (D3DX9_##.dll and d3d.dll); the disk always has that special version it requires.

On the CD/DVD that the game came on. If you downloaded it, it will be in the download directory.

no files or folders named directx in it.
one file named "instmsi30.exe " is there.

Important Note: Do not, under any circumstances, download the d3dx9_30.dll DLL file individually from any "DLL download site." There are a number of different reasons that downloading DLLs from these sites are never a good idea.

Either your directX is outdated and needs updating, or you have no video card drivers installed.

Hi, I'm new here and I can see that this thread is quite old, but mayabe someone can help as I'm getting the same trouble with the d3dx9_30.dll file. The thing is that I don't see any reason why I should download that file from a dll download site and replace it as I can see it, so if I can see it, why does it give me the 'missing' error...? Anyway, in Microsoft's support http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319114 they say that these errors might occur due to a wrong path to that file (also mentioned here), so any idea how I can find and repair the problematic 'path' to that file...?
