Danger Den Masoon White powder substance

I ordered a Danger Den Masoon Bay res last week. I should be getting it soon, but I got a E-mail that I wanted to let others know, if they got one and saw this.

I’m writing to let you know, you may get the reservoir with a white almost powder like substance inside the reservoir. I just opened one up and noticed it. It is an “outgas” from the gluing process. So, I want to let you know that it is easy to clean…or you can return it and we’ll get it cleaned out. I’m very sorry for the hassle. If you clean it out I’ll gladly give you a credit or gift certificate to Danger Den. If you want we will take it back and do the cleaning.

How I cleaned it:
Took off the top. Used a microfiber cloth and some novus 1 (or acrylic safe cleaner) and wiped it all down. Also did it behind the pump cover.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Now, to me there is no problem for myself to clean it out. But, I just want to let others know of something that they might have seen, or haven't seen yet but have ordered one..

I ordered from Danger Den themselves. The person said that there has been a few calls from PPC and Frozen that they have seen that white powder in the res.. So, I really don't think it was set to just one shop having it..

just DD themselves.

gotcha least DD sent out an oh shit message. still hate ordering from anyone but petra but he sold his shop so now i have to deal with gary...oh well hope the res comes out nice i really want to see your rig all done up

It shouldn't be too much longer now I don't have 16h days and I got a few days where I'm off early every month..

Just needing the res, then the frame for the case.

I think it is a stand up thing to offer a return, or offer a credit if you clean it yourself. Really tells you that they value you and your time, and realize that your time is worth something. A lot better than a lot of these companies what wouldn't care that the end user has to waste their time fixing a product.

thats why i like petra had 2 things with his shop that were mess ups he oversold black 3.5" bay res's and sent me the white one half price (still doesn't match tho) and i got a bum corsair branded laing d4 he shipped me a new one the next day emails were responded to very fast

Yeah, Petra was great. Gary has been real good at doing things.. It different when your a single person doing things and not a company.. I really try not to order from PPC.. Due to the mishaps that seem to happen at every order I do threw them.

The monsoon reservoirs in question only came from Danger Den. It was an outgas of the adhesive used to attach the inner cover. I assembled them too soon after the process. I didn't notice until I was doing a build for PDXLAN. So, unfortunately a couple got out ahead of me

Ah, I thought it was a mass produced mishap. Didn't know that it was all built by hand on that.

Yeah, there a great company to work with. This is my first order threw them, but I've had nothing but good words from people and dealing with DD straight up

Didn't know that it was all built by hand on that.

yup from what I'm aware it's just machine assisted hand builds. Seems to work great from what I've seen. Never had an issue with DD products always top notch.

I've had their pumps before and I do like the quality of them.. I was going to get a 480 mirror cooler, but since I'm using the carbon fiber, i didn't want to mark on that sweet finish.
