im waiting on thursdays newegg sale when the 1TB drives are supposed to drop like $15. If i decide not to get one Ill talk to the boss and pick up that 640GB

I Might have to mention the sale to a friend that needs another 1TB drive or two to expand his Raid Array . I told him he should save and get a proper NIC card instead of onboard, but he wants more drives still! He won't get an SSD for his OS to put on either

you should its suppsed to be sweet. I kinda cant blame him about the SSD thing. I currently have 5HDDs (each one for spacific things) I wanted an SSD but the big ones are expensive and the small ones dont cut it. when fully patched OS's get big
I definitely agree on the OS thing. I Tried talking him into getting 2 64gb vertex's when they were a ridiculous 120 each and just raid them. I don't think TRIM is available in RAID on SSD's yet, but I know Intel just did it to theirs firmware based, so OCZ will probably have it shortly then. I figured those would be plenty for an OS and one or two of his most favorite to run nicely on. Luckily he at least took my advice of using some of his 8GB of RAM as a RAM Disk for his temp files for windows and his browser. He just used 2GB iirc and now he's happy !
