Yes, graphics cards do this when they are faulty. Take the block off again and look for where the block may make contact with the card to create a short, or the block isn't mounted properly.

yeah i think its new card time bro, either way in your other thead you stated one core wsnt working properly anyways, sounds like you need an update, I tend to stay away from dual card setups due to things usually screw up faster/easier on them

Yes go for it perform almost the same as the X2 ( lil better in some games ), my advice if you find the 2nd revision two GPU single PCB GTX 295 runs cooler and with minor issues than the dual PCB.

its the EK water block I have the same card and water block and had the same issue. its the water block. you must use STAND OFFS with the water block. if it didn't come with them contact EK for STANDOFFS. Your water block is shorting out the card.:toast:

just dont want to deal with someone so far away, i will take a step back from that for now.

I think the card i am looking at on ebay seems very cheap and i should go for it, it ends in a couple of hours....

what do you guys think, it is the dual pcb revision though? i do not plan on overclocking or watercooling this time.

ATI problems with HD 30" screens. Class action pending

Apple Nightmare of the decade, or at least for me.

Purchased dual core early model, had several months of problems. Basically it did not would not work. After over a year and 100's of hour wasted and being blamed for environment conditions to user issues and every other excuse, they finally replaced it. Slow render, poor everything you can point out. Took everything including video equip and screens and desk top into store several times to be turned away with now solution.

Wow I got a new 2.93 gb cor, 16GB ram with 2 x 30' displays.
More problems, HD displays had really bad static lines through HD screens on black back ground.
I was told to replace cords 3 times, to upgrade to this and upgrade to next FCP and other quick fixes that ended up costing thousands and got zero fixed.

They replaced everything in the replacement and again same problems.
eg. 11 minut iphone clipe took 2 hrs and 40 minutes to render , a 32 GB card with took 30 minutes on a laptop, took 23 hrs on the desk top. Obviously slow.
Again it was a user problem and problems went nowhere.

They again replaced video card and then mother board while all the time I explained it was the graphics card but the pro genius people and tech support prolonged the pain in the hope I would give up.

PS this is the short version of the full story which I am publishing and listing on every chat room available.

Then the mother board was replaced on site and yet again same problem upon startup which was all video recorded as was everything else.

Second replacement came out (third machine). Upgraded to 2x2 TB and raid card with all kind of goodies. Upon start, it had the same propel. ATI card caused sever unusable static across entire scree and disabled any client in house edits which cost up a fortune and the down time was a killer.
Apple didnt care either way.

Finally after years of having something I paid 20k for, it had not yet functioned yet. Seems the rendering is faster which is yet to be seen.
Apple wouldnt budge on replacing another graphics card, instead they wanted both 30 'screens shipped to them which meant more down tim. Without regard for the 5 jobs I had to be worked on, they insisted. I told them to give me two screen so I could work which the laughed at and a stale mate was reached.
I ended up buying an apple graphics card worth $500 and filming the entire process of the change and the instant fix which resulted.

Apple care are actually called apple we dont care. This is being made into a small doco for you tube to show how many people I went through to get nothing fixed after many years on a product that cost me over $20,000 and twice as much in down time and business problems. Having to render farm our work. The story goes much deeper.
Michael from Apple care with his last name coming soon had someone offer me a hat and tshirt as compensation for years of bs.

The new card worked and we are yet to see what apple will do before we flood the internet with this story and several cuts of what went wrong that apple could have fixed. All conversations were recorded and all names departments and run around as well.

So to hell with apple and my attorney even though its Apple Inc lol has enough information and factual recordings and conversations to make this a very strong case that we are looking into turning into a class action and have started the steps.

Stay tuned to see where this leads us next.
Im a DP and own a production house for pre and post and will make sure this is posted everywhere for the max exposure to Apple customer care ethics.

Stay tuned for more.
