Debate: Gaming with a 30" Monitor or a 36" TV

Hi all,

i have a DELL 3008 30" with amazing colors which also offers 2500X1600

I had a Samsung sycmaster but sucked so i sold it and got another DELL 3008..

now i can sell one of them and my questions are

1:) should i get a TV a bit bigger but have a resolution of 1900*1080 (kinda love the hihger one)

2:) if i get a monitor of 30 inches which are the best ones right now?

The 30 if it's just pc gaming. If it's console gaming the tv. Never worth using an LCD at a non native res.

Definitely stick with the higher resolution for gaming, you need better graphics hardware but gaming on a 30" monitor or better gaming on 3 30" monitors is really something different.

The best 30" monitors on the market right now are the Dell U3011, HP Zr30w and maybe the LG one.
I personally picked the U3011 because I found myself very well with the 3008WFP.
Also it is very hard (if not impossible) to find a television that can match the color accuracy of a 30" IPS monitor, the only downside as I told you is the need for better graphics hardware.
If you play fast FPS games you shouldn't use a 30" or a TV for gaming (unless Plasma), you'd be better off with a 120hz monitor
