Is anyone using the Dell Inspiron 620 with this motherboard (GDG8Y MIH61R) with the Nvidia EVGA GTX 750 TI SC graphics card? I'm thinking of upgrading and wanted to see if anyone has this combo and how it works. I have 8 megs ram and a CX430 PSU.

Just stick the thing into the thingy and make game babies.

Seriously, a PCIe x16 is universal for graphics cards.

Not so fast; we're talking about Dell here. I've seen instances where Dell has restricted the power output on the PCI Express x16 slot to way below the official PCIe spec. I checked and couldn't find any reference to this on the 620, but I wouldn't put it past Dell.

Assuming that Dell didn't do something screwball with the 620's motherboard, that EVGA GTX 750 Ti SC card should work. EVGA says that the card has a total power draw of just 60 watts and needs a minimum 300-watt power supply. Give it a try.

I recently installed a CX430 watt power supply in my Dell Inspiron and I have 8 megs of ram. It also has a PCI plug for additional graphics power if needed.

Thanks. I recently installed a Corsair CX430 watt power supply in my Dell Inspiron and I have 8 megs of ram. It also has a PCI plug for additional graphics power if needed. I could even go with the GTX 750 TI FTW.
