thats how i felt about wait when i tested it here its very inefficient for non touch systems, wait seems to force 1 technique on us where as W7-W95 gave us many options of how to access stuff

I mean obviously windows 8 has had a lot of under the hood overhauls, but if the UI does't function well enough to even want to use the OS, those under the hood changes have zero effect.

IIRC WXP, WV,W7 had the option of going back to a W95/98SE feel to it

There is only one thing that gets back the normal start button, well as far as I know. Start8, but its costs a whole 9.99. NO THANKS.

Microsoft took a shit down their leg when they pushed the Metro screen on desktop users.

I agree with you on that, if they were smart theyd put Aero back in with a Minor system update to W8 ver 8.2 or something like that

Windows 8 is just a hurried bowel-movement to try and cater to tablet and phone casuals.

Windows 7 shouldn't be obviated, and should still be sold and supported side-by-side with 8.

Windows is trying to remove the gap between PC and tablet / phone. I think this is a great idea, but the problem isn't the operating system. The problem is that tablets / phones don't support x86/64 architecture, so windows 8 is still going to be split as different operating systems for the market segments.

Find a way to compile everything unanimously under windows 8 if you want to unite all systems. If not, just give us our windows 7 support and be on your marry way.

Yes, Not that windows 8 is bad but yes win-8 launch basically to satisfy the market which was going with android and all apart from that How much people use touch based systems...while the win-8 is best suited to touch.... :-D BTW the looks are good....

and above all what you say about the x86 and 64 system is true both are not supported by mobile devices so still the win-8 is all new to them..

Windows 8 is going to be a dominating force in the phone and tablet market, thats what the OS is made for. But its just lame for desktop.

I do like Windows Server 2012 though. I use it everyday at work as a Lab Engineer at Microsoft.

Only bonus I see with Windows 8 is that the Pro version comes with Hyper-V

@MxPhenom 216

But still the app support for win-8 is quite low that of android and leaving that thing behind how much people around us use the Hyper-V in every day computing on personal level....Still yes win-8 is quite nice as it is inheriting different properties from the windows simple os and the server editions....

I don't think so. People don't like change unless its by Apple then everybody hails it as the best thing ever. Any other company, everybody says it fails. Too bad most of the people saying it fails have not used it or have not spent enough time with it to properly judge it. It's like me looking at a book cover and saying it sucks or reading the first chapter and then saying it sucks. All this negativity about Windows 8 makes me sick. If you don't like change don't push other people away from it that may love it

The problem i see is what some other say they are trying to force the UI as default.. The problem could of easy been solved by adding a question for the user what they wanted.

Most people are not using desktop PC's like that so WTF it's a stupid UI to have as default and a fool can even tell you that..

To fast to soon.

But yes in the current market scenario the new android ice-cream sandwich is dominating and the single reason behind this is the wide range of the supporting apps. (As much I see the Indian Market) android based Samsung, HTC, Sony-Ericsson are selling on high....

So I think that ms have to increase the support factors to the win-8 as "Yes, the thing is necessary but the packing is the reason of creating effect of so called FIRST IMPRESSION"
