Not much info on it really. Either way I can't wait. I loved the first one and I really loved the second one. Not sure why Invisible war got so much crap, I consider it one of the best games ever made.

It played like crap compared to the 1st one. I hope they do add some cool stealth elements to it like the 1st.

I had not had enough of the 1st one even though it was shit long and people expected more of the same thing.

I have IW might try it again just for story sake.

I found the gameplay close. I did play IW first, and then picked up the original, so that may be it. IW is so damn story driven that you have to play through it 3 times to get each side of the story. My advice is to put the difficulty on realistic and play. One of the few games that it plays so much better on the hardest difficulty. Mainly because you do just as much damage as the enemies do, they aren't overpowered, a bullet to the head stops them just as quick as it does you.

I think the reason was/is consolitis. For example, in Deus Ex, the entire Liberty Island was a single map where in Dues Ex 2, it was broken into three parts (and the sum of the three is still smaller than Dues Ex). That added loading times that annoyed PC users coming from Dues Ex. Additionally, Dues Ex 2 is a lot shorter than Dues Ex.

Those are the primary reasons why it wasn't as well receieved. Personally, I'd give Dues Ex a 8/9 and Dues Ex 2 a 6/7. Dues Ex 2 isn't horrible but it can't reach the bar set by Dues Ex.

Consider the times too. It pushed the envelope for soft shadows and it was an early DX9 title. The video cards then had a REALLY hard time with large, open areas. I was playing on an Athlon XP 2200+ with 512MB of ram and a Geforce FX 5900. Look at the other titles from that time. Doom 3, Half life 2, and Far Cry had horrible and frequent load times.

I played IW when it was released, thought it was pretty darn good, played the first game 3 years later and now I can't play IW. It's not a bad game, it's just not even close to the first game imo. My main problem with it is the retarded level design (I have the same problem with Thief 3). Leave one area, look at a loading screen, run a few steps, another loading screen, you realise you forgot something, another loading screen and so on and so on.. I can the see need of different areas, but why make them so distinctive? In the first game you were dropped on the map, got an objective and that's it. In IW it feels like you're dropped in a room, wich do contain lots of things, but you still have to walk thorugh this tiny door to get to the next room. It really bugs me. :(

I could have lived with it if it wasn't for that loading screen. HL2 just toned everything down and put a LOADING text there, but that screen switching thing is really annoying because even on a modern system it means loading times.

Consolitis severely plagued a lot of Xbox/PC titles of that time. Dreamfall: The Longest Journey also comes to mind. Consolitis is still present in newer games but vastly diminished from the old.

Well i did play though it twice and the stealth element was not as good in IW and they took out lean too if i remember right...

I 1st played it near when it was released and some years later as my wife liked it. And dayum that game takes for ever too play though.

I still have IW some were might try give it another run though just for story sake.
