For those who pre-ordered from NewEgg (and probably anywhere else), the i7-4790K started shipping today (mine's coming from Memphis). I noticed today that the release date in their ad moved back a day to June 26, probably to give them an extra day to fill all the pre-orders. I guess the Pentium 20th Anniversary chip will ship shortly, it's release date has been moved to July1st. Finally some new unlocked CPUs to play with!

Let us know how well yours OCs. Most are saying there's not much OCing room with those. I like that you're assured 4GHz stability for any game though, and when games like Far Cry 3 come out that mess with even mild OCs, that is indeed nice to have.

Gonna wait to see how the first retail batches do (Malay vs. Costa Rica) and, of course, for a Microcenter Combo!

Yep. The G3258 is looking like a good budget gaming CPU. Doesn't look good for AMD

Nice, can you run 1T on the ram?
    Pretty respectable 4.6 @ 1.25v

Nice...already looking better than most 4770k chips. My Z97-Deluxe will arrive on Monday (actually arrived in town yesterday, but I didn't pay for express shipping, so no Saturday delivery!). I had every intention of skipping Haswell, at least for my main rig, then Broadwell got pushed back to 2015 and Devil's Canyon became a temptation. Even the worst 4790k should run faster and cooler than my 3570K, which wouldn't run completely stable at 4.6 GHz no matter what the voltage (with H100). Wish me luck in the chip lottery!

GL, I think you should do well since you are an early adopter, early adopters usually seem to get better overclocking chips. Maybe Intel sells the best stuff first.

I just got the i5-4690K from Newegg on a pre-order. I already had a i5-4670K on the shelf, now I get to build them both.
