For some reason, my GeIL Ultra Platinum DDR 400 2-3-3-6 won't work in the yellow slots of my DFI. It works in orange, but when I move it to yellow, it posts, but doesn't boot to Windows. This is a new board, and my previous board of the same kind (which I RMAd) had the same problem. Is this a BIOS issue?

I know it should work in the yellow slots since I have CH-5.

    Orange Slots-Samsung TCCD/TCCC
    Yellow Slots-Winbond (UTT) BH-5/CH-5

    Anything?

Maybe the slots are different types. Like orange = ddr and yellow = ddr2 and vice versa.

Well I don't know anything much else. If you're trying to use sdram in a slot that's not sdram, same with ddr and ddr2, it probally won't work, heh. I'm such a newb at computers.

try putting "stick 1" in "stick 2" slot and "stick 2" in "stick 1" slot. dfi boards are finicky.

Should I get a BIOS that's better for the yellow slots? There's the 704BTA BIOS at DFI-Street. I'll try what you said.

I'm sure it's not the board though since it happened on both of my DFI Ultra-Ds. What BIOS are you using?
